What effects does the road pricing have?
One fourth of the drivers have reduced their
driving on weekdays because of the road pricing, a survey reveals
from Zapera among 655 representatively selected drivers in
Stockholm. The survey also shows that the majority of the Stockholm
drivers support the purpose of road pricing – and this is regardless
of whether they live in the centre of the city or around it.
Two thirds know their politicians well and
think that the road pricing will rise within two years. In that case
23% will reduce their driving and this is primarily true for the
ones that do not drive very often.
Six percent of the respondents have
low-pollution cars and they are very satisfied with their choice.
36% of the owners of regular cars consider replacing it with a
low-pollution car, but there is considerable skepticism. Many of
them think that the low-pollution cars of today are too expensive
and not sufficiently environmentally friendly. The skepticism also
seems apparent when it comes to choosing the most environmentally
friendly fuel. Electricity gets the most votes, and then comes
biogas and hydrogen. Only 9% says ethanol or E85.
