Zapera hit distribution between the
two political blocs spot-on in recent Swedish election.
PRESS RELEASE
Thursday, 21 September 2006
Again this year Zapera conducted an
exit poll in connection with the Swedish election on September 17th.
A sample was drawn from Zapera's almost 50.000 persons large.
Swedish access panel, and by 20:45
2.059 interviews was completed. All interviews was conducted via the
internet.
Below you will find a comparison
between the exit polls from SVT (Swedish Television), TV4 and
Zapera. As it can be seen, Zapera almost hit spot-on when it comes
to the distribution between the two political blocs, with an average
deviation at 0,35%. TV4 had an average deviation at 0,5% and SVT at
0,9%.
When the actual distribution between
the parties is studied, TV4 and Zapera is very close with an average
deviation for TV4 at 0,93% (based on 2.000 interviews) and Zapera at
0,95% (based on 2.059 interviews). SVT came in best with an average
deviation at 0,43% - but they had also completed 10.000 interviews.
Jakob Preisler, Head of Statistics at
Zapera, is satisfied with the result.
- "This election was characterised by
a very large movement of votes and many first time voters, which
makes the result harder to predict from a statistical point of view.
The results have given us very valuable input to the continued work
with our political weighting matrix, and I expect us to be even more
precise in the coming political opinion polls - and naturally the
next exit poll."
