Zapera cemented their stronghold in
the Nordic region in 2006

Zapera’s business model with focus on
high quality research skills, local presence and data collection via
the Internet has proven sustainable. The overall objective of the
company is still to be among the 3-5 largest market research (MR)
companies in all Nordic countries (i.e. Denmark, Sweden, Norway and
Finland) within the next 3 years.
- We have already achieved our goal in
Denmark, and we are getting close in Sweden. In Norway and Finland
we need to enforce our efforts, and first step will be to establish
local presence in both countries, says CEO Lars Lund-Nielsen.
With a Nordic/Baltic Sea panel of
130,000 respondents in 6 countries combined with 65 highly skilled
research professionals at 4 locations Zapera has positioned the
company perfectly to serve the more than 350 major clients. Since
the establishment in 2000, Zapera has carried out more than 8,000
surveys on its proprietary platform, thus making Zapera the single
most experienced online MR company in the Nordic region.
- Zapera is perfectly positioned for
future growth. In the Nordic region we estimate our market share to
approx. 10% of all online market research. The total Nordic research
market is estimated at approx. € 700 mill. of which only 8% is
online. When we experience the same development in online market
share in the Nordic region that we have seen in the US there is a
huge market coming up, says Lars.
In the past years growth has primarily
been organic but in 2006 Zapera secured their first major
acquisition. The company acquired all activities from Swedish
Quickwise - a local competitor. The whole process of merging the 2
companies has been very successful and beneficial with out losing
momentum in the market place.
- After the successful acquisition
and integration we do find it obvious to consider additional
acquisitions in the region in order to maintain our position and
reach our overall objectives. Though, main focus will remain on
serving and developing our present client portfolio, says Lars.
Revenue grew to € 5,323K from 3,530K
in 2005 (50%), while EBITDA grew to € 854K from € 334K in 2005
(157%). Zapera also experienced very satisfactory growth in
operating profit from € 288K in 2005 to € 668K (132%).
